Songs to Keep: Treasures of an Adirondack Folk Collector was produced as part of a larger project, spearheaded by Traditional Arts in Upstate New York, to increase awareness of the Marjorie L. Porter Collection of Ballads and Lore.

The partners are TAUNY, Mountain Lake PBS, the Adirondack History Center Museum, and SUNY Plattsburgh Feinberg Library's Special Collections, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, and an education and outreach grant from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Project.
